You are SO right about attitude. With the right attitude, people will think twice about crossing your path the wrong way.

Hi Kel, it's true that we think we need to respond to things when in reality it is our choice to do so. There are times when I have too much going on and I'll pick up the phone unconsciously and respond when I'm not even ready to say hello. Now that's pretty bad! Good reminder!

Hi kelly,
Today some people still have the mentality that women are asking to be abused by their mates. I know of one situation where the lady worked for Safe and she stayed in an abusive relationship. Her ex-husband tried to kill her by pouring kersene on her and setting her on fire. This is my opinion, that women stay in abusive situations because they have been abused before, physically, emotionally, or sexually in their homes. To me most abusers choose also, women who are naive, passive , and have low-self-esteem. Yes, call 911, when you she someone being attacked , but be prepared to deal with the person not going through with the charges and their anger with you for calling the police.

Hi kelly,
Thank you for helping to keep us safe, your weekly safety tips help keep us aware of the need to think about taking charge of our own safety.
I have installed two dead bolt locks on my door that can not be bumped. Also, I have installed a wide view peep hole, and a motion sensor light in my backyard.
I moved back to a neighborhood I lived with the old neighbors i used to have.I explain some of the problem we had before in the neighborhood and I got a good response. We keep our yards bushes cut low and use out side lights, alarms and dogs.
Thank you, Kelly keep up the good work
